Dental Insurance Braintree
Take Care of Your Smile for Less
It seems like everything is expensive nowadays. Our practice wants to relieve some of the financial pressure, and one way in which we do so is by welcoming dental insurance! Whether you purchased your policy on your own or have it as a benefit through your employer, it can help you take care of your smile for less. But how can you get the most out of your plan? Our team is eager to assist you. We welcome dental insurance, and we are even in-network with several popular union dental plans.
How Dental Insurance Works

No two dental insurance plans are exactly the same, so we cannot provide exact details of how your benefits might work. It is up to you to familiarize yourself with your unique policy. In the meantime, though, what we can do is give a basic overview of the coverage that is standard among many PPO plans:
- Preventive services are often up to 100% covered. Cleanings, checkups, and X-rays often fall into this category.
- Minor services may be around 80% covered. Fillings and other basic treatments are usually classified as minor services.
- Major services tend to be around 50% covered. Crowns, dentures, and some types of oral surgery may be labeled as major services.
Your plan might have other stipulations as well, such as a deductible, an annual maximum, and a waiting period before you can use certain types of coverage.
What Is the Difference Between Dental & Medical Insurance?

A big difference between dental and medical insurance is their focus. Medical insurance is all about systemic health. While it may cover preventive services for your overall health, it may not cover any routine oral care services, such as cleanings, checkups, or fillings. Dental insurance, on the other hand, focuses on protecting your teeth and gums. It can make it easier to afford the care you need to both achieve and maintain a healthy smile.
In rare cases, there is a small amount of overlap between dental and medical insurance. For example, they might both be applicable to certain types of oral surgery.
In-Network vs. Out-of-Network

We welcome both in-network and out-of-network patients. Simply give us a call so we can explain how your benefits might apply to the services we provide.
In-Network Coverage

If a dental practice is in-network with your dental insurance, it means they have a contract that limits costs and encourages a particular standard of care. In most cases, out-of-pocket fees are lowest at in-network practices. Our team is in-network with several union dental plans, including:
- Painter’s Union – Delta Dental of MA
- Local 103 – Delta Dental of MA
- Local 22 – Delta Dental of MA
- Local 223 – Delta Dental of MA
- B.I.D Active High Plan (most hospital plans) – Delta Dental of MA
- South Shore Health Systems – MetLife
Out-of-Network

Even if we are not in your insurance network, we still invite you to see how we can serve you. We can file claims for all PPO dental insurance plans. You might be pleasantly surprised by how your benefits apply! Remember, when it comes to choosing a dentist, the most important thing is to visit a care team that is worthy of your trust and respect.
